I've PR'd for a few hotels accross the globe, and Grosvenor Pulford unfortunately isn't one of them, but when I was asked to review the hotel and stay for free with my boyfriend, I wasn't going to have to be asked twice. How could I turn that offer down?
The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel, a beautiful historic
19th century building in Pulford on the outskirt of Chester, walk
two minutes down the road and you're in Wales.
I went to be relaxed and pampered and to have some peace from my busy working life in the city (if Farcet counts!) and this is what I got. On arrival myself and my partner Matt were whisked away to the Kasia Spa. I was given a therapeutic 50 minute hot stone massage whilst Matt received a 50 minute deep tissue massage. We did not want what was going on to end, when the masseuses left the room Matt said he felt he had a new back- the treatments were relaxing and effective.
We were recommended to try out the spacious marble Hanaan since it was free, half sauna, half steam room but hotter. We stayed in there for as long as we could, afterwards when the lobster skin disappeared, I felt revitalized, energized and healthy. It certainly cleared our heads. We had a swim in the pool which had lots of sun loungers decked around it to relax on and a nice bubbly Jacuzzi too.
Lunch was gorgeous and served quickly, we opted for the healthy Mushroom Risotto.
We stayed here for 1 night; I enjoyed every minute and would definitely stay there again. We had a very good night’s sleep; the room was quiet as we faced onto open country-side. The double bed in our Deluxe suite was enormous and comfy (soft mattress which I loved!) The room was really big and very attractively decorated; there was a sofa and wardrobe. Flat screen TV, double aspect windows, tea & coffee making facilities. The bathroom was large and very white and clean with lots of free Clarins goodies to take home - a nice surprise to other 4 star hotels I’ve stayed in.
I stayed here for 1 night but will definitely come for longer next time. All the staff were polite and helpful. The atmosphere was good. Everything was spotless. Absolutely no faults at all. You will have a brilliant stay. I suggest going on a Sunday so you can indulge in their feast of a Carvery for dinner and choose the conservatory for dining in the attractive leafy chic settings.
